Occupational Health & Safety Policy Statement

Malvern Instruments Ltd. designs, manufactures, supplies, supports and installs materials characterisation equipment and associated systems. The deliverables include software development while support services to customers include sample analysis, applications advice and customer training.  Malvern Instruments Ltd. recognises the responsibility it has to:

• Provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities
• Consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety
• Ensure our products meet the requirements of all relevant Occupational H & S legislation.
• Provide training to customers in the safe use of our products
• Consult with our customers to ensure that they are aware of their Occupational H & S responsibilities to Malvern employees working on their sites.
• Consult with our contractors to ensure they are aware of their legal requirements when working at the Malvern.
• Provide relevant Occupational H & S documentation and training to contractors working on site
• Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
• Ensure safe handling and use of hazardous substances
• Provide information, instruction and supervision for all employees
• Ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks and to give them adequate training
• Prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health
• Maintain safe and healthy working conditions and review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals

The company has developed and integrated an Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHH&SMS) to meet the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001:2007 and to reinforce the company's commitment to the prevention of injury and ill health to all personnel associated with Malvern Instruments in any capacity. The OH&SMS is used as a vehicle for the setting, measuring and monitoring of health and safety objectives and operates in parallel with the Business Management System (BMS) introduced to ensure compliance with the demands of BS EN ISO9001, and the Environmental Management System (EMS), introduced to ensure compliance with the demands of BS EN ISO14001.
